Thomas Waldner. Born on 14th April 1971, he acquired his basic journalist skills at Norddeutscher Rundfunk NDR (1992 and 1999) in Kiel. His career started with radio content: Making complicated things understandable for listeners, always produced under enormous time pressure, live on air, close to everyday people from their point of view and always getting the message across – as a reporter, moderator and editor in chief for regional radio shows.
At German Television ZDF (2000-2008) in Mainz Thomas Waldner supported the setting up process of ZDF’s new media platforms: ZDF.MSNBC, heute-t.online, heute.de, zdf.de and tivi.de. As an online reporter, he wrote about the US elections and parliamentary affairs in Germany.

Finally Thomas Waldner was the first Managing Editor in Chief and Deputy Managing Director of the New Media Department at ZDF with over 100 employees. He accompanied the process when TV and Web were irrevocably merging.
In the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lübeck (2009-2014), Thomas Waldner was Managing Director Communication. His work was based on an international focus. He has driven the expansion of digital media in business communication and shared the responsibilities of accompanying one of the biggest economic, political and social events in Northern Germany, the Neujahrsempfang with 1700 participants.
Thomas Waldner also engages himself in non-profit organizations (Board Gemeindediakonie Lübeck e.V., Advisory Board Sequoia Helping Hands Deutschland e.V.) in the metropolitan region of Hamburg.
The border region between Hamburg and Copenhagen (strengthened by the construction process of the Femerntunnel between the danish island of Lolland and the german island of Fehmarn) is particularly close to his heart.
In 2014 Thomas Waldner founded twkom. agency for strategic crossmedia communication. Co-Founder Birte Waldner, studied graduated engineer of architecture with over 20 years of professional experience, is Co-Owner of twkom and supports the work of twkom in the fields of strategy, planning and design.
Twkom joins the cooperation with different high professional strategic and media partners in Hamburg and Lübeck. Twkom advises small and medium sized businesses, institutions of science, education and politics.
